Freeman Farms

Quality Cattle & Horses for the farm and ranch

Soybeans

Most of the soybeans are planted behind the winter wheat harvest in June, some is planted right after the corn crop it gotten out.  Bill usually grows around 200-300 acres of soybeans each year.

Corn

We usually put out about 150-200 acres of corn each which is mostly used to feed our own cattle, but some is sold off the farm.

A look out of the combine window during harvest.

Wheat

Winter wheat is planted as a cover crop after the soybean & corn harvest.   It is nice to see such  lush green fields in the dead of winter.

Ok, this is not how we normally harvest our wheat, but it's what we are trying after the Spring frost of 2007.

You can see the yellow streaks in the wheat, this was 2 weeks after the frost.
