Welcome to Freeman Farms home on the web!
We operate a family farm in Cunningham, Tennessee. Bill Edd continues the family traditions started back in 1933 when his grandfather bought this homeplace and moved his family here to this house. The story goes that Norman Freeman bought this place because he has just gotten a tractor and could farm more land with a tractor than he had with mules.
Passed down from Norman to his son Davis Freeman, then to Bill Edd, The Freeman Family has always took pride in their land, cattle, and crops. We now run a cow/calf and stocker operation, with about 350 cows mainly calving in the Fall, but also have a few Spring calving. We have been so pleased with the Gardiner genetics and the product that the Bulls we have purchased from them has turned out that we usually save back about 50-60 heifers and Artificially Incemanate them each Fall. We have recently implemented the EID system on our farm. A new venture on the farm has been Quarter Horse breeding. We have 3 good broodmares and 2 more mares on their way. With the recent purchase of studs from the Pitzer Ranch Sale in April 2006 we won't have to AI anymore. The colts and filly born this year are spectagular and are so gentle. Our goal through selective breeding and easy breaking is to turn out with a good all around ranch/farm work horses. We are focusing on a type of horse to that you can go out and check your cows, bring them all in when weaning or just have a good trail ride on the weekend!
